Cognitive Behavior Therapy, founded by Aaron Beck,  increases the awareness of the relationship between thoughts and our responses. According to CBT, our automatic thoughts are directly related to our emotional response (feelings), our behavioral response (our actions) and our physiological response (the mind-body connection). Thus, I utilize CBT to help people move from unhelpful thinking to helpful thinking. I work on acceptance of our emotional response and the importance of coping with the emotions. In addition, work on making small changes in behavior/actions is also important.

Self Discovery is a process.

Through guided discovery, you will explore your values, thoughts, and feelings. You will learn to let go of distressing thoughts and feelings. It is through this self-discovery that you learn to live in the present and move through life with intention. Loss of hope, loss of joy, loss of relationships, and loss of dreams are the consequence getting hooked on distressing thoughts and feelings.
